About Water Purifiers

Mountain Ash Pottery hand makes all purifiers  this creates a stronger and more durable art piece. Purifiers are all made from fine stoneware clay and fired to 1300oC. All glazes are unique to Mountain Ash Pottery formulated by David Massey, and are non-toxic.
Benefits Of The Water Purifiers
Adults need to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day to prevent dehydration. Water is essential for nutrient absorbtion and removal of wastes. Water from our taps can be contaminated with dirt, petrol fumes, slime, rust, algae, hydrocarbons, pesticides and industrial wastes, add to this chlorine copper and aluminium. Tank water may contain animal and rodent droppings that can pollute the water. Dust, leaves, smoke residue from the roof, aerial spraying can also taint the water.

The carbon activated ceramic filter is extremely effective in removing suspended solids, organic pesticides, chlorine, amoeba bacteria and heavy metals.

99% of Suspended Solids and 99% of Parasites and Cysts are removed.

How Does It Work?
1. Water is placed in the top bell shaped insert where it is filtered. Firstly the micro porous ceramic filter, filtering out the suspended solids, amoeba and sediment.

2. Secondly water passes through the carbon core filtering more impurities such as chlorine.

3. Thirdly the core is impregnated with silver, which prevents bacteria from breeding thus eliminating Giardia and Cryptosporidium.

4. The simple design is made up of the insert with ceramic candle filter and stand for easy access for pouring. Just fill from the tap and drink pure water.

5. The glazes are non-toxic and the pot is easily cleaned to store drinking water.

Before Use
Remove your filter from the insert by simply unscrewing the wing nut. As the filter is made from both clay and carbon there is air inbetween the materials. Soak filter upside-down in a cup of water for approx. 1 hour to remove air. Insert filter carefully into the pottery insert, ensuring that you hold the plastic at the base of the filter, as the filter is fragile when wet. Use a washer on either side of the insert then screw on the wingnut.

Care Instructions
The filter will need to be cleaned about every 3 weeks. As the filter is clay, it will become clogged and water flow will be reduced. Simply remove your filter and gently clean with a clean toothbrush kept aside for this purpose. If really clogged gently scrape with the back of a knife under running water.

The filter will last at least 6 months. When replacing with a new filter, ensure the filter will remove bacteria.

If the system is leaking
Your tap needs to be tightened. Remove water holding the nut on the inside tighten the tap by turning at least one full turn. If the tap is defective, simply ring us and we will replace it.

Small specks of carbon.

Small specks of carbon {Charcoal} may appear in your water in the initial stages of operation. This is harmless and will disappear with use.
